Ruckus

One of the benchmark sportfishing yachts in her class, ‘Ruckus’ combines serious offshore capability with the comfort, quality and craftsmanship for which Viking is renowned. Extensively refitted in 2023 and maintained to an exceptional standard under the care of a full-time captain, she presents as a highly capable and exceptionally well-equipped offshore sportfisher.

‘Ruckus’ has proven her offshore pedigree through extensive voyages between Australia, New Zealand and Tonga. Her substantial fuel capacity allows her to complete the return voyage to New Zealand without the need for auxiliary fuel bladders.

Her tournament credentials are equally impressive, having secured victory at the 31st Tongan International Billfish Tournament in 2025. She also holds both the 50lb Line Class Swordfish World Record, with a 300kg fish, and the 16lb Line Class Swordfish World Record, with a 168kg fish.

The cockpit has been extensively customised for serious game fishing and features a centrally positioned Pompanette game chair, six tuna tubes, a large transom livewell, Shakespeare outriggers, an insulated fish bin, cockpit shower and sump box pump-out system.

Accommodation is provided across a practical three-cabin layout. The master cabin is positioned to port and features an island double bed and private ensuite, with extensive engine spare-parts storage located beneath the bed. Two additional guest cabins feature over-and-under bunks, providing comfortable accommodation for up to six guests.

The flybridge is comprehensively equipped with three 17-inch touchscreen displays, a Furuno FCV1150 fishfinder, CSH-8041-A Omni Sonar, DFF3D multi-beam sonar, FAP 7002 autopilot, FA-50 AIS and dual Icom VHF radios. Additional equipment includes rebuilt hydraulic steering, a Sleipner bow thruster, a rocket launcher accommodating eight rods, four additional rod holders incorporated into the tower legs and two Shimano Force Master 9000 electric teaser reels.

A custom black marlin tower provides an elevated fishing and navigation position and is equipped with a single 15-inch Furuno multifunction display.

A Quintrex Outback Explorer 370 alloy tender, powered by a Yamaha 25hp four-stroke outboard installed new in 2021, is carried aboard using a Davco 500kg davit.

Power is provided by twin Caterpillar C18 diesel engines producing 1,050hp each, while an EneOn 6kW generator, installed new in 2023, supplies onboard electrical power.
