The Italian shipyard Benetti was created in 1873 by Lorenzo Benetti and is one of the world’s largest shipyards producing luxury yachts. In the early beginning, when the company was run by the founder’s sons Gino and Emilio, the shipyard was called “Fratelli Benetti”, and embarked on the path of becoming a company with a worldwide reputation. In 1985, Benetti was acquired by the Azimut SpA. The Azimut-Benetti Group, which was founded as a result of the merger and reorganization of companies, has taken a leading position among the shipbuilding giants.
